Butachimie, located near Chalampé in eastern France, is the world’s largest production site of Adiponitrile (ADN). Butachimie is a joint venture (50:50) between INVISTA and BASF, with INVISTA being the Adiponitrile process technology provider. The ADN Technical Associate is the support role for the ADN Technology Representative. This position provides process engineering technical expertise to enable effective oversight and governance of ADN Operations, IP protection, EHS performance and capital investments. The ADN Technical Associate enables effective knowledge sharing, technology support between Butachimie and INVISTA. The successful applicant will help INVISTA create long-term value for customers and society, pursuing continuous innovation and improvement.

What You Will Do
- Ensure Butachimie sustains ADN IP protection practices meeting INVISTA’s expectations.
- Aid the implementation of best practices associated with operating the INVISTA ADN technology.
- Provide support to ongoing operations and seek continuous improvements of the technology.
- Identify early warnings within process operating conditions, such as fouling or process excursions, to minimise production impacts.
- Support the review and challenge process for capital project and Turnaround scope, to meet the needs of the venture and Partners.
- Elevate issues and raise improvement opportunities around the venture.
- Collaborate with the ADN Technology Representative and Butachimie’s Senior Leadership Team to provide effective governance of Butachimie Operations.
- Actively participate in Chalampé site management processes to help the Venture fulfil its manufacturing mission: Health and Safety, Environmental, Production, performance reviews, technical and reliability committees, major project, and turnaround steering teams, etc.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in process engineering or chemical engineering
- Proven working engineering experience in highly hazardous operations and working in an industry park with complex SLA’s
- Ability to set high standards through influence of a 3rd party
- Experience with INVISTA internal capabilities i.e. R&D, Operations, etc., to resolve technical conflicts
- Flexibility to work with a different company / country cultural difference to create efficient operations.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Deep knowledge of the ADN process.
- Fluency in french
- Extensive experience effectively communicating with all levels of the organization
- Experience leading through influence.
