Georgia-Pacific’s Continuous Manufacturing Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Green Bay – Broadway team as an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator.
Our Team
EHS Coordinators support the team to attain manufacturing goals while adhering to environmental, health, and safety standards. Long-term value is created through the application of our Principle Based Management™ business philosophy. This is a day shift position working from 6:00am - 2:00pm. Overtime and additional hours may be required occasionally. This position starts at $25 dollars an hour and includes a sign-on bonus of 15% of your total gross income after your first 90 days of employment (external candidates only). The EHS Coordinator is a full benefits eligible role.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with the EHS Manager & Logistics/Converting Departments in understanding and adhering to safety policies and procedures, safety audits and EHS training
- Assist the EHS Manager & Logistics/Converting Departments with regulatory requirements relating to OSHA, RCRA, EPA, and DOT requirements
- Conduct environmental, safety and building inspections as required
- Investigate and report incidents and manage incidents from initial reporting to completion.
- Proactively maintain knowledge of current and emerging federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulatory requirements affecting the facility
- Manage Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) inventory, personal/department locks, and other safety equipment
- Facilitate and document operational & physical HIRA’s and Department Risk Assessments
- Engage with technicians on the floor to focus on safety and build their personal safety knowledge
- Lead safety improvement efforts with support from the Logistics/Converting departments
- Assist in technician training as needed
- Routinely work in a loud/noisy, hot, humid, dusty, greasy and high-volume environment
- Occasionally lift and pull up to 50 pounds
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, Word Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
- Speak, read and write English
What Will Put You Ahead
- Associate Degree or higher.
- Experience using root cause analysis.
- Experience in a safety, environmental and/or quality role.
