Our Plattsburgh, NY mill is actively hiring for a newly created developmental role with Georgia-Pacific as an Operations Capabilities Leader. This leader will be responsible for supporting the leadership & development of frontline leaders, leading capability departments, and contributing to a culture that prioritizes safety while achieving exceptional results. What You Will Do
- Role model the behaviors and actions that advance our culture and company principles
- Support the development and coaching of frontline supervisors, helping the operations leadership team drive performance through their crews
- Develop and own a support capabilities action plan to drive expectations and accountability towards successful performance and results
- Communicate daily with the operations group to maximize production efficiency & prevent schedule misses.
- Participate in daily GEMBA walks with site leadership to better understand the opportunities on the floor
- Be a partner in optimizing and improving efficiency with a contribution focused mindset
- Partner with disciplined operations in planning and executing improvement strategies
- Be a change agent and positive voice through a prioritization of floor time and presence
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing leadership position with direct responsibility for employee development and asset health
- Bachelor’s Degree
What Will Put You Ahead
- Pulp & Paper / Tissue Manufacturing Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Pulp & Paper Sciences, or Similar
- 5-10 years’ experience in a manufacturing leadership position with direct responsibility for employee development and asset health
- Packaging Machine Experience
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (LSSGB / LSSBB)

For this role, we anticipate paying $80,000-$130,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
