Our Corrugated Box Plant facility is located in Owosso, MI, and we are looking for a Process Controls Technician. The Process Controls Technician will provide technical expertise and project engineering as required to support the facility’s execution plan and operations. This position will be responsible for the integration of new process controls standards and building the troubleshooting capability within our facility. The role will have direct impact on safety, reliability, cost reduction, and process improvement at the facility.

What You Will Do
The Process Controls Technician is a subject matter expert supporting operations and maintenance. The selected candidate will utilize process controls systems to increase the throughput, quality, safety and reliability of our processes. A successful candidate will:
- Provide onsite troubleshooting and repair of our equipment
- Implement process controls standards and ensure all future capital investment within the facility follow the new standard
- Validate documentation drawings accurate and in place for all current and future equipment
- Implement programming guidelines and standards
- Design, program, modify and maintain PLC, Drives and HMI systems
- Manage implementation of upgrades and new technology
- Develop and implement control strategies
- Work with corporate teams and contractors to specify and install systems
- Create instrumentation and control system specifications
- Support on-call and maintenance schedule duties to the plant
- Ability to travel to vendor and other GP Facilities is required
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience in Automation or Process Controls OR an AAS in Instrumentation, Automation, Process Controls or related field
What Will Put You Ahead
- HMI/SCADA Maintenance and Design
- 2 year Technical/Vocational degree, OR Associate’s Degree or Higher
- Industrial electrical knowledge, including both power (480VAC) and control circuits
- Experience working within a corrugated operation
- Server and PC knowledge (Windows, Linux,etc.)
- Prior experience in a plant maintenance department
- Experience in Control System documentation using MS Office and AutoCAD
- Preferred platforms and standards: Allen Bradley PLCs, Siemens Control Systems, DCS, Rockwell Studio 5000 and legacy platforms (RSlogix 5, 500), GE Proficy iFix, and FactoryTalk View, Rockwell Powerflex and Kinetix drives, Yaskawa A1000 and legacy drives, Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Profibus communication protocols.
