Our INVISTA Kingston, ON facility is seeking an experienced maintenance supervisor to join our team. We are one of Kingston’s largest employers, with over 600 employees supporting a growing nylon market. We produce quality products used in the automotive airbag, and engineering polymer industries. The ideal candidate will have experience leading maintenance work groups, mentoring employees, monitoring their progress, ensuring EHS compliance and quality results. Utilizing strong communication, leadership, technical and problem-solving skills, the successful candidate will be excited about guiding, developing, and supporting their team members towards the Site Vision. ·Relocation assistance is available for a successful candidate, if required to relocate to the Kingston area.
What You Will Do
- Create a positive work environment, with a strong culture of teamwork. Ensure an environment that allows open reporting, prompt follow-up and resolution of issues or concerns that occur through the normal course of work.
- Lead and develop a team of 10-20 direct reports with a focus on ownership for results, creative thinking, and economic decision making aligned to the company's risk profile.
- Identify performance gaps and build improvement plans to enhance skill and capabilities within your team.
- Ensure employees develop skills required to identify root cause and take effective actions to resolve problems in their work.
- Partner with production areas to prioritize and execute work that keeps assets on-aim and reliable.
- Create systems and information to support the execution of maintaining work on site systems such as air handling and HVAC units.
- Make economical decisions around INVISTA vs contractor resourcing to address site priorities.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Previous experience leading/supervising a maintenance team.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial or military environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical knowledge of installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair techniques for a range of industrial equipment
What Will Put You Ahead
- Post-secondary education in a technical or technology discipline (B.S. Engineering OR Engineering Technology Diploma OR Trades Certificate of Qualification)
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead teams using Root Cause Analysis problem solving methodology.
- Ability to effectively use computer-based systems including Word, Excel and CMMS (SAP).
- Experience providing leadership to Contract partners.
