Your Job
As a Process Safety Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe working environment by assessing potential hazards, implementing safety measures, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks associated with various processes and operations.
What You Will Do
- Conduct process hazard analyses (PHA) and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure that safety considerations are integrated into the design, installation, and maintenance of equipment and processes.
- Review and update process safety documentation/information.
- Develop and deliver process safety training programs for employees at all levels, emphasizing safe operating practices and awareness of potential hazards.
- Participate in pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR) for new or modified processes to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess the effectiveness of process safety management systems and recommend improvements.
- Stay current with industry regulations, codes, and best practices related to process safety.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to teams working on process-related projects.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and participate in regulatory inspections and audits.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Understanding of process safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Experience with process hazard analysis techniques (such as HAZOP, LOPA) and risk assessment methodologies.
- Experience communicating and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Experience using problem-solving skills to identify and address potential process safety risks.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, safety engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Process Safety Professional (CCPSC) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
- Experience using relevant software tools and systems to manage process safety documentation and data.
- 3-5yrs experience in manufacturing environment covered by PSM.
