Engineering Supervisor (Mechanical)
Position Overview:
The Power and Signal Business Unit is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to help develop and extend the next generation of High Power connectors and solutions. The role will function as both a lead engineer and a supervisor to help develop a team of high performing engineers.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for leading and coaching engineers on the team
- This role will be involved both directly in project level work and supervising a team of engineers
- Coordinate and lead engineering efforts to ensure projects meet customer and manufacturing requirements
- Interface with internal teams to coordinate and execute multiple projects at the same time
- Interface with customers, sales and marketing to develop high level concepts
- Work with cross functional teams
- Full design cycle responsibility including concept generations, detailed engineering models, drawings, design reviews, DFMEA…
- Work with manufacturing teams to develop and establish cost estimates and project options
- Travel to visit customers and manufacturing facilities
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field with 5+ years of related experience
- Proficient in solid modeling to generate 3D models & 2D drawings
- Demonstrated ability to analyze information and solve problems with sound solutions
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- NX CAD experience
- Strong and diverse technical skills
- Molding, stamping, plating experience
- Experience with high power/high voltage systems
- Experience working with IT/Telecom and Datacenter customers
- Knowledge of SAP Material Master/BOM loading process
- FEA experience including thermal modeling
- Ability to develop and meet project schedules, along with contingency plans
- Demonstrated ability to identify and develop future needs
