Georgia-Pacific’s Consumer Products division is searching for a Paper Machine Performance Leader for the Halsey Mill located in Halsey, Oregon. The Supervisor is responsible for the development of the hourly operations employees’ capabilities and manages all aspects of their performance. This leader will have a general understanding of the mill and will be accountable for the product system results that are impacted by their team’s performance and capability.
A successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, constructive challenge skills to facilitate improvement, the ability to stay current in best practices and be a continuous leader, and collaboration skills with the ability to engage teams.

Our Halsey Mill is located on Willamette Valley and is centrally located near the beach and mountains with several forms of outdoor recreational activities. The Halsey Mill is roughly 30 minutes from the college towns of Corvallis and Eugene, and 90 miles south of Portland, OR giving abundant options for regional attractions and forms of entertainment. What You Will Do
- Role Modeling the behaviors and actions that advance our Principle Based Management® (PBM®) Culture and the organizational vision
- Coaching, leading, mentoring and developing employees to continuously improve their knowledge and skills, and performance to create long-term value for the organization
- Enabling knowledge sharing and knowledge transfer between team members to help them succeed
- Interfacing with area and crew leaders, manufacturing engineers, skill builders and reliability coordinators to identify and address performance and knowledge gaps
- Drive a culture of safety and environmental excellence through critical hazard identification, risk reduction, and risk mitigation
- Managing individual performance and holding individuals accountable for their results through vision setting and performance feedback
- Providing resources to help team members develop their own careers and realize their full potential
- Lead designated process improvements with growth mindset
- Provide strategic insight and suggestions for process improvements
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing, heavy industrial, or military environment
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
What Will Put You Ahead
- Associates Degree or higher in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field
- Experience coaching and mentoring employees to improve their knowledge and skills, as well as performance
- Working knowledge of paper machine operation
- Experience using Kronos
- Experience communicating (written and orally), and presenting to individual contributors to senior management
