Georgia-Pacific’s Consumer Products Division is seeking qualified professionals to consider for our Manufacturing Engineer opportunity for the converting department at the Wauna Mill located in Clatskanie, Oregon. The role is responsible for increasing the effectiveness of the asset group by improving reliability, work processes, equipment performance, and team member capabilities.

Our Wauna Mill is located on the Columbia River and is centrally located near the beach and mountains with several forms of outdoor recreational activities. The Wauna Mill is within an hour drive to Portland, OR offering regional attractions and forms of entertainment. What You Will Do
- Develop, implement, and lead the execution of comprehensive asset strategies for Converting Assets
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to implement new systems & process changes to improve productivity, yield, quality, and reduce costs
- Lead problem solving and troubleshooting efforts
- Collaborating with the hourly and salaried team to identify and close gaps in knowledge & Skills
- Exemplify and advance Principled Based Management (PBM®).
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- 2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment working as an engineer, planner or technician (Transferrable experience in the military may be considered, in lieu of direct manufacturing experience)
- 1 year or more experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and/or reliability strategies
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas) and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence)
What Will Put You Ahead
- 3 or more years of manufacturing experience within a paper or pulp manufacturing operation
- Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering
- Experience as a supervisor with responsibility for direct reports
