John Zink Hamworthy Combustion, a Koch Engineered Solutions Company, is now hiring for a Sr. Flare Applications Engineer in Tulsa, OK. The role requires an individual who is self-motivated, technically strong, has excellent communication skills, can present a value proposition, and who is able to influence key decision makers.
Our Team
As part of the John Zink Flare Team, the selected individual would be working with technically sophisticated customers to provide custom-engineered solutions for a wide range of industries.
What You Will Do
- Engage in discussions with a global customer base to better understand their equipment needs
- Coordinate with multiple John Zink and Koch Engineered Solutions business offices to find creative solutions that best meet the customer’s needs
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers to develop the technical and commercial proposal that communicates the value of our proposed solution
- Respond to customer inquiries in order to refine the proposed solution to meet varying customer needs as they arise
- Work with the equipment execution team to ensure the equipment is built in compliance with customer specifications and expectations.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- 5+ years of process design or sales / applications engineering for custom engineered products or projects
- 5+ years of experience working with customers to develop solutions for technically challenging problems
- Experience working cross functionally with sales and engineering teams
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally on a quarterly basis (25-30%)
- Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship
- Must be able to work in a typical office environment. Must be able to wear PPE for shop location and field visits, including steel toe boots, safety glasses, NOMEX or other fire protective clothing.
What Will Put You Ahead
- 2+ years of combustion-related applications engineering or process design
- 5+ years of applications engineering, technical sales, or business development experience in the Petrochemical or Refining industries
- Experience working with a global customer base
- B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Technology Engineering, or other relevant technical degree or 5+ years of closely related experience in the combustion industry
- Advanced degree in a related field (eg: Master’s, MBA, etc.)
