Georgia-Pacific opened a new state-of-the art lumber mill in Talladega, Alabama! This location receives about 150 log trucks a day and produces approximately 300 million board-feet of lumber a year! This is an exciting opportunity to work in a technologically advanced facility in a world class Principle Based Management culture.
Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Electrical Superintendent for our lumber mill in Talladega, AL. The Electrical Superintendent will manage the plant electrical production function. This position is responsible for supervising electrical and supporting staff personnel, managing in a way that supports/enhances Principled Based Management, fosters teamwork and produces results.
What You Will Do
- Supervise electrical and support staff personnel, manage in a way that supports/enhances our MBM principles, fosters teamwork and produces results.
- Supervise the installation, maintenance, and repair and testing of a wide range of electrical equipment such as programmable logic controllers, HMI Systems, generators, motors, transformers, control panels, cables, power distribution systems and associated switchgear in the plant.
- Work with the facility operations group to increase reliability while improving plant performance.
- Assure safe workplace practices are followed at all times and drive safety awareness through leading by example.
- Improve and lead the electrical organization which would include but not be limited to predictive, preventive and proactive electrical maintenance analysis as well as designing and implementing long-term continuous improvement applications and systems to enhance electrical reliability.
- Lead and support continuous improvement processes through decision making, employee involvement, systems and training.
- Meet and exceed objectives and metrics for safety, cost and productivity performance.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Electrical and E&I experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment
- Supervisory experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment
- Associates degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems, Instrumentation, or Electronic Technology
- Experience with industrial controls PLCs, motor controls, control valves, and electrical distribution
- Experience with industrial instrumentation for flow, pressure, and temperature
- Experience reading and following electrical and mechanical schematics / blueprints
- Must have experience with electrical reliability, predictive and preventive maintenance, and Root Cause Failure Analysis.
- Must have experience in employee performance management and change management.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Allen Bradley PLC experience
- Five (5) or more years of electrical experience
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience
