We are seeking a candidate to fill a manufacturing support role within the Asset Centered Operations group. This position can be home based. The position will report to Director of Asset Centered Operations within the Manufacturing Advancement Group (MAG) and will work with multiple groups and disciplines throughout operations to mitigate risk around asset operations and improve asset performance and reliability.
Our Team
Utilization of PBM® and Frameworks to proactively support the development and execution of improvement plans for the Pulp and Paper Manufacturing sites. This role will be responsible for building a capability to accelerate gap closure related to maintenance and operations standards by collaborating with internal stakeholders and other capability teams to deliver results, creating superior value to meet GP’s manufacturing vision.
What You Will Do
- Develop strong relationships with constituents in Operations, Project/Process Engineering, and Businesses teams.
- Support facilitation and coordination of assessments to identify gaps in standards.
- Oversee the development and execution of projects related to programs to accelerate gap closure related to asset operations and maintenance standards.
- Determine resources to support the execution of strategies developed.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to facilitate implementation of project and improvement opportunities.
- Work with manufacturing sites to gain alignment on implementation plans to execute gap closure plans.
- Ensure key project deliverables are completed to sustain operating and maintenance strategies.
- Comply with Environmental, Health, and Safety Compliance in all activities to achieve zero incidents.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Proven capability to lead and grow an effective project team.
- Proven capability of leading through influence; working with and through large cross-functional teams
- 10+ years’ experience in manufacturing/operations experience, preferably in paper or process industry
- Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated project/program management experience.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple programs across multiple areas of a continuous manufacturing plant.
- Strong financial and analytical skills, with the ability to collect, distill, and analyze data to identify critical insights.
- Ability to recognize potential issues, identify alternatives, and make recommendations.
- Demonstrated team/group facilitation experience – meetings, knowledge sharing, problem-solving, etc.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a preference for Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Pulp and Paper Science.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the pulp & paper industry operations and engineering
- Knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of assets in scope of responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience in project development and implementation of project activities.
- Ability to travel 50 - 70%
