Georgia-Pacific is currently recruiting for a Reliability Engineer for our particleboard facility in Diboll, TX. The Reliability Engineer is responsible for all aspects of Predictive, Lubrication, and Fluid Power reliability to ensure best possible operational equipment availability. The role will actively interface with all levels of the organization within the facility and groups outside of the facility. The Reliability Engineer has two direct reports and reports to the Maintenance Manager.
What You Will Do
- Creating an environment where the team achieves zero incidents in Environmental, Health and Safety.
- Leads and fosters a safety culture that values risk identification and personal ownership, through a principled-based approach.
- Provide technical expertise and transfer knowledge to operators/technicians, department leaders, support capabilities, and shift leaders.
- Assist maintenance management in identifying skill-gaps of maintenance employees and facilitating the upskilling for maintenance employees. Enable training for precision maintenance practices through identified training opportunities.
- Identify/facilitate operator-care based programs.
- Provides strategic and tactical leadership in the areas of safety, asset reliability, cost optimization, quality capability and productivity.
- Leads the effort to identify, investigate, recommend and implement equipment improvements, new systems and process changes that will improve productivity, yield, quality and/or reduce costs.
- Provide leadership to Reliability Technicians in a variety of disciplines to support plant safety, compliance and production goals.
- Manages reliability activities to improve equipment availability based on industry best practices for rotating/reciprocating machinery, electrical and instrumentation systems; and pressure vessels/piping systems.
- Work closely with production, maintenance and service teams to understand failure modes and effects and develop mitigation plans; prioritize and develop action plans for our reliability-centered maintenance system.
- Ensure that systems and resources are in place for the inspection, restoration, quality assurance and testing of systems in accordance with regulations and best practices.
- Develop, implement, and support preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for new and existing equipment (vibration analysis, lubrication program, oil analysis, ultrasonic, infrared, NDT, thermography, MCE testing, and precision maintenance).
- Coordinate execution of small projects related to equipment reliability improvement.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- At least 2-years’ experience in reliability or mechanical integrity in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Experience utilizing Root Cause Failure Analysis strategies.
- Working knowledge of MS Office. (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
What will Put You Ahead
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Manager/Supervisor, Reliability Engineer, or Reliability Manager/Leader.
- Associate’ s degree or higher in technical field such as Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with capital project management and continuous improvement methods.
- CMMS System experience. (i.e. SAP / MP2 / ActivePlant)
- Vibration training/qualifications
- Certification or continued education in reliability applications, practices, and management
- Experience managing a site mechanical integrity inspection program
- Experience with Reliability Improvement tools (Root Cause Failure Analysis, preventative/predictive maintenance, KPIs)
- Six Sigma experience or certification
