Koch’s Employee Relations Capability is looking for its next amazing team member!
As an Employee Relations Specialist you will partner closely with the business HR and legal in working through employee relations cases across the portfolio of business and capability groups. The Employee Relations Specialist will provide advice and direction regarding employee relations matters to leadership, management, and employees throughout the organization. Key objectives in the Employee Relations leveraged team include ensuring legal compliance with Koch guidelines are met consistently, objectively, and fairly.
This opportunity can be remote or based out of any Koch company office.
What You Will Do
- Conduct investigations regarding potential misconduct, policy violations and employee issues
- Identify, analyze, and provide recommendations to employee relations situations
- Advise and influence all levels of management regarding employee relations decisions (performance management, harassment, discrimination, termination, restructuring, fraud, confidential information protection, HR policies)
- Prepare comprehensive investigation summaries to include findings, evaluation of any process gaps or practices that create legal risk to mitigate organizations liability
- Counsel managers and employees consistent with company policies/practices, legal considerations, etc.
- Prepare written responses to external government entities requests and charges (EEOC, DOL, etc.)
- Analyze metrics to determine trends and develop proactive strategies to share with business partners
- Strong foundational knowledge of U.S. employment law and HR practices
- Desire for continued learning around employment laws and HR practices and interest in legal research & interpretation
- Demonstrated business acumen

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of employee relations and/or investigations
- Strong technical writing skills (i.e., preparing responses to government entity requests and charges, etc.)
- Experience in a fast-paced work environment in which you had to manage multiple, often competing, priorities
- Experience building collaborative relationships in a remote environment
What Will Put You Ahead
- Working knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations and HR strategic practices
- Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions
- Experience with investigations and bringing closure to complex HR issues
- Experience with coaching and counseling on all levels of the organization
- Experience in a business-related role (HR, accounting, finance, IT, sales, etc.) collaborating across teams and varying levels in the organization and building relationships
- Bi-lingual
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelors’ Degree
For this role, we anticipate paying $80,000 - $115,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
