INVISTA is looking for an Environmental Engineer - Air Focused to be part of a team providing environmental support and assistance to our Nylon Intermediates manufacturing facility in Victoria, Texas.
Our Team
The team is responsible for transforming and innovating environmental tools, compliance reporting, communication of environmental requirements, managing/resolving constraints, change management, compliance assurance, and training.
What You Will Do
- Interact with Operations and other site personnel to foster a culture of compliance and promote a relationship of collaboration and teamwork with the Environmental team.
- Manage compliance of federal (EPA) and state (TCEQ) air environmental program requirements, including but not limited to Title V, HON, MON, BWON, etc.
- Lead and/or support transformation efforts to improve and, where needed develop, environmental compliance programs.
- Develop tools and templates while ensuring consistency in program compliance management.
- Driving continuous improvement through integration with site-wide processes, “right-sizing” tools, eliminating data management redundancy, and ensuring controls are in place for critical environmental data, and improving environmental information management and reporting activities.
- Lead implementation and maintenance of the INVISTA Regulatory Management System.
- Ensure program requirements are understood and sustainable through the development of rigorous, robust, and integrated compliance systems and training programs.
- Perform periodic self-assessments and participate in audits to verify compliance and system effectiveness.
- Perform required inspections and field reviews for maintaining compliance with permits and regulations.
- Management of work performed by contractors and consultants in support of program areas assigned.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or science field (chemistry, environmental science, biology, etc.).
- 4+ years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting leading development of and implementation of environmental programs, including training.
- Experience in leading air programs in a manufacturing environment (i.e., Title V)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, familiarity with Power BI and PI (or other data historian processes) preferred.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Multi-media experience in environmental air, water, waste, and UIC programs.
- Experience conducting facility audits or inspections to identify improvement areas.
- Experience implementing key management systems/controls such as Permits, Plans, License & Registration, and Compliance Calendars.
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Must be able to work on job sites in the field.
- Must be able to climb stairs in operating unit.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions for various periods of time.
- Must be willing to work shifts more than 8 hours periodically and take calls during non-working hours. May participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
