The Scrum Master / IT Project Manager is responsible for leading, organizing, and motivating teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering IT projects and products that meet the business needs of our customers. Projects and products will vary depending on complexity, scope, and approach. Depending on type and team constraints either agile, waterfall or hybrid approach is utilized.
This Scrum Master / IT Project Manager will be responsible for managing several concurrent high visibility initiatives, using various methods, in a fast-paced environment that may cross multiple business domains. The work includes managing scope, issues, risks, stakeholders, financials, and communications. You will negotiate resource commitments (financial and people) and lead teams to achieve set goals and objectives. The Scrum Master / IT Project Manager will promote and use best practices with others in the IT organization.
What You Will Do
Be a Project Leader
- Interact with both business and IT individuals at all levels of the organization, including the executives, cross-functional teams, on-shore/off-shore, and vendors across a matrixed environment.
- Lead software development projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met while showing strong ownership and commitment to outcomes
- Manage stakeholder expectations
- Motivate, mentor, and coach project teams to deliver on project commitments
- Be willing to respectfully challenge processes or practices that are inefficient or can be improved
- Collaborate with the team to ask questions and understand project requirements well enough to document and report out on progress
Lead the Scrum Team
- Manage intake of development requests from Product Owners and Business Analysts
- Manage and groom multiple product backlogs
- Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives
- Remove obstacles and impediments
Communicate Effectively
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, utilizing various media and methods for communication
- Understand technical details of a project and effectively communicate them to non-technical stakeholders and customers
- Track and formally report on overall progress, financial health, risks, issues, and mitigation strategies of project
Other
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team-building
- Demonstrate excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills to ensure project success
- Analyze a project, team, and environment in order to develop the most suitable processes for that team/project
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience in Agile or Hybrid methodology
- Experience in custom application development
- Experience leading teams and anticipating, planning, prioritizing and self-monitoring workload(s)
- Experience utilizing Azure DevOps and Microsoft Office
- Experience with software development lifecycle
What Will Put You Ahead
- Certified Project Management certification from PMI or equivalent or Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
- Bachelor's degree in an IT discipline
- Experience in custom application development and/or cloud-based applications
- Experience with data science, analytics, BI and/or other data related projects
- Experience with machine learning, artificial intelligence, computer science related projects
- Experience working in the Manufacturing industry
