Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD)is seeking a Senior Process Engineer our Katy, TX headquarters. The Process Engineer will be responsible for leading all technical aspects of an EPC project – from early development phase through commissioning and turnover.

What You Will Do
- Basic & detail design engineering activities for the assigned project(s) in Petrochemical, Refinery and Gas Processing Facilities in accordance with the requirements and specifications as set forth by client
- Interface with other disciplines, vendors, and clients
- Perform process simulations, design calculations, sizing & selection of equipment’s etc. Review of client’s documents, specifications, datasheets, verification of FEED design & calculations
- Preparation of various process engineering deliverables such as PFD, P&ID's, equipment datasheets, heat material balance, process line sizing calculations, hydraulic calculations, instrument datasheets including control valves and relief valves and other process design related tasks
- Evaluate vendor quotes and develop equipment bid tabs
- Participate in developing I/O list, line list, cause & effect, control philosophies, shutdown philosophies, and providing necessary engineering inputs to the other disciplines
- Provide assistance in developing start-up and operating manuals, attend and assist in Process Hazard Analysis meetings for projects, and attend start-ups for plants when requested
- Positive & healthy working nature among the team of engineers to ensure optimum productivity & efficiency.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in performing simulations in Petrochemical, Refinery and Gas Processing Facilities
- Working knowledge in using process simulator software such as AspenTech HYSYS, UniSim and PROMAX
What Will Put You Ahead
- Professional Engineer license
- Experience preparing equipment datasheets for heat exchangers, pumps, vessels, compressors, fired heaters, electric heaters, and distillation columns
- Experience in sizing PSVs and Control valves
