We are currently seeking a Design Team Lead (m/f/d) within our Engineering Team in Landau, to join us as soon as possible. In this role, we offer you tailored training in a diverse and challenging environment of thermal process engineering and equipment design.
Our Team
Our team is a global leader in the field of thermal separation technology. We develop and provide top-of-the-line mass transfer equipment primarily for distillation purposes. Additionally, Julius Montz offers solutions for renewable energy and the food industry. At the Landau site, our Process Engineering Team also realizes complete systems with a focus on thermal process engineering, alcohol technology, and solvent recovery. You will be part of a dedicated and creative team where you will have the opportunity to contribute your ideas and grow with us.
What You Will Do
- Leadership of the plant design department
- Design of process equipment for thermal process engineering
- Creation and optimization of design documents
- Layout, piping, and routing planning for complex process systems
- Creation of assembly drawings for apparatus, equipment, and structural steel constructions
- Creation and editing of P&IDs, bills of materials, and documentation
- Review of apparatus and structural steel drawings and technical discussions and negotiations with subcontractors
- Performance of static strength calculations for mechanical components and stress analysis of pipelines during the design phase
- Specification of material requirements
- Technical and economic evaluation of design changes
- Coordination and interface management with customers, service providers, and suppliers
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Degree in mechanical engineering or process engineering
- Initial leadership experience
- Professional experience in the field of equipment design, apparatus construction, or piping design
- In-depth knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines (e.g., AD2000, EN13445, EN13480, Pressure Equipment Directive, etc.)
- Good knowledge of a 3D design program for plant engineering (e.g., Plant 3D, CADISON, etc.)
- Strong commitment to quality and a goal-oriented, responsible work style
- Independent conceptual thinking and action
- Strong teamwork, communication skills, resilience, and flexibility
- Good command of both German and English languages
