We are seeking qualified applicants for the role of Automation Platform Technician supporting the operation of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) across the entire Georgia Pacific manufacturing network.
Our Team
This position is part of a dynamic work team, reporting to the Automation & Robotics Center of Excellence. This team services all geographic regions across the country, expecting the individual in this role to reside in Atlanta, GA, or within 1 hour from the downtown metro Atlanta area.
What You Will Do
- Leverage your skills across multiple manufacturing facilities to support Georgia-Pacific's automated guided vehicles (AGVs)
- Remote monitoring of facilities AGV system's operational performance
- Perform regularly scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on AGVs
- Apply your knowledge and experience to provide corrective maintenance support, which could include Root Cause Analysis activities.
- Support various manufacturing facilities operation and automation technicians in issue resolution through remote and onsite partnerships as well as data analysis
- Perform supplemental training for site automation technician partners.
- Ensure Asset Strategies related to the AGVs are being executed and provide feedback to the AGV Platform when changes are needed.
- Partner with the extended A&R CoE team members, such as our Learning & Development Leader and Automation Monitoring & Diagnostics team, to leverage internal technical tools and data to troubleshoot, trend performance, and predict when maintenance is required to be performed.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Technical Degree or higher in maintenance, electronics, mechatronics, or engineering OR working experience and formal classroom training in electrical motors, PLC operation, bearings, belts, and drives.
- Experience in operations and equipment maintenance or manufacturing engineering
- Experience communicating with all levels of the organization (i.e., via reports, e-mail, verbally, and in small/large group settings) in a team environment.
- Willing and able to travel within the United States approximately 70% of the time.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience with maintenance of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs)
- Experience supplying technical support across multiple locations/customers.
- Experience applying Root Cause Analysis techniques
