Our Team
Georgia-Pacific has an opening for a Carpenter in our CAMDEN, TX Plywood and Lumber mill. If you are motivated by working with your hands, then this might be the job for you
What You Will Do
· Design and construct new structures
· Remodel/renovate existing structures
· Operate machinery and forklifts
· Perform other duties as assigned
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
· Must have at least 5 years of carpentry experience in new construction, including framing/finishing.
· Must have carpentry experience in remodel to include cabinet making and refinishing.
· Must have knowledge of constructing and installing forms.
· Must have basic plumbing skills/knowledge.
· Must be able to follow technical specifications from blueprints and technical drawings.
· Must have leadership skills and the experience to coach and counsel employees
· Must have basic computer skills.
· Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
· Have good team skills.
· Be able to obtain a forklift license within 30 days of accepting the position.
· Have all essential carpentry tools.
· Must be willing to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed up to 12 hours a day
· Must be willing to wear the necessary Personal Protection equipment (PPE) i.e.; hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, chemical suit, respirator, ear plugs, hearing protection, steel-toe boots and any other PPE require by specific jobs
· Must be willing and able to walk on elevated walkways
Special Skills, Training, or Education Preferred to Perform Position
· Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
