INVISTA (Canada) Company’s Kingston Site located in Kingston, Ontario has an opening for an Electrical Designer to join our Integrated Engineering Team. Our large production plant has a broad range of engineering applications from the upstream chemical processes (reactors, distillation columns, extruders) to downstream spinning processes which use highly automated, mechanical systems.
Our Team
As part of our multi-disciplined engineering team, you will be responsible for creating electrical/instrumentation design packages for projects at the Kingston Site from concept to completion.
What You Will Do
- Co-lead the development of detailed engineering designs in support of various project activities at the Kingston Site. This includes detailed drawings (schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, etc.), P&ID’s, equipment specifications, bills of materials, and scopes of work.
- Establish estimates for both capital projects and upgrades.
- Provide electrical and instrumentation support to all phases of project execution from front-ending through to completion, including engineering, construction, commissioning, and ongoing reliability and support to operations.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Technologist and/or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related disciplines such as Instrumentation or Automation/Controls
- 3+ years demonstrated Computer-aided design skills (proficient in relevant CAD software and Document management software)
- Previous industrial experience
- Experience converting conceptual designs into final design documents
- Experience with Canadian/Ontario electrical codes and regulations
