Georgia-Pacific LLC is currently seeking a Manager / Senior Manager of Finance to support our Dixie® business. This position is based out of our Corporate HQ in Atlanta, GA and is performed onsite. This role functions as a strategic and financial business partner supporting key growth strategies, point-of-view work, and economic analysis to ensure the business is making good economic decisions for the short and long-term. The selected candidate will have demonstrated capability to grow and develop into a future Director role that acts as a strategic business partner/leader with the category business leader.
The Dixie® business is part of Georgia-Pacific’s Consumer Products business. Dixie® delivers value across both retail and B2B channels with quality disposable tableware products that provide convenience in today’s busy world. With an extensive line of disposable plates, bowls, cups and cutlery, Dixie® has solutions to help consumers stay on top of everyday life.
The Finance team within Dixie® is focused on driving the long-term strategy of the business and ensuring we have the right point-of-views and priorities in place to achieve the business vision. This role, specifically, will work closely with each of the business and finance leaders for our segments and its supporting capabilities to support and drive the strategic direction of those segments. The ideal candidate must be able to communicate effectively with category management and other cross functional partners, to think strategically, and to influence category and capability team members.
What You will Do In Your Role
- Use analytics, benchmarking, statistical concepts, and financial measures to guide category decision making for category initiatives such as: existing product optimization, innovation product pro forma, customer and product mix financial analysis
- Develop detailed financial models to quantify the value (Economic Thinking) of capital investments across a range of business outcomes
- Perform competitive market analyses, valuation analyses, and marginal analyses of competing opportunities
- Work collaboratively with the business to develop a market point-of-view, including long-term demand outlook, price setting mechanisms, and scenario development
- Foster strong and disciplined economic thinking across the Dixie® organization
- Identify opportunities and partner with category and capability teams to drive P&L improvement in revenue, cost of goods (manufacturing and distribution), and cost of sales (SG&A and other sales related spend)
- Seek and share knowledge, identify opportunities for improvements, challenge the status quo, propose solutions
- Learn and support the other Director positions in a way that builds capability for future potential succession
- Advance the Principled Based Management® (PBM®) culture by applying and reinforcing the company’s Guiding Principles
Who You Are (Basic Requirements):
- Progressive career experience in finance, management consulting, or another strategy-focused role
- Strong economic and strategic thinking skills with analytical capability to confidently develop a point of view, frame and evaluate complex problems, and provide decision support
- Ability to communicate effectively across a matrix delivery model (including executive leadership) to keep stakeholders informed and engaged while building a trusting and respected relationship
- Ability to embrace change, provide challenge, seek to bridge gaps and solve problems, and to drive company initiatives
- Demonstrated business acumen in work product; you act with integrity and challenge when needed
- Ability to travel to Dixie® field locations and other corporate offices as needed to develop and grow business partnerships
What Will Put You Ahead
- Advanced degree or MBA in finance, economics, or other discipline that requires quantitative knowledge
- Experience in consumer goods industry
- Experience working in a manufacturing company and understanding of a manufacturing business
- Developing capability in others; experience that demonstrates growth potential into future strategic leadership roles
