Leaf River Cellulose in New Augusta, Mississippi, has an exciting opportunity for a Materials Coordinator. This is a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials, equipment, and services required for the efficient operation of the mill. This position requires a proactive individual with exceptional organizational and communication skills, who can work collaboratively with various teams.
Our Team
The Leaf River Cellulose Mill is a large paper plant, north of New Augusta, Mississippi. They produce filter grade pulp and market pulp, which is used in the manufacturing of coffee filters, vacuum cleaner bags, automotive filters, printing paper, tissue paper, and coated paper.
What You Will Do
- Coordinate and secure the material and specialty resource requirements to fulfill daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules.
- Ensure timely availability of parts, materials, specialty tools, equipment, and services to meet scheduled work execution.
- Provide expediting assistance to Area Maintenance Leaders, planners, crew leaders, maintenance coordinators, and purchasing for materials, tools, and special services.
- Monitor backlog schedules to ensure all materials are on site by the projected scheduled work date, at least two weeks in advance.
- Work with the stores department to pull, kit, and stage materials according to work order tasks/jobs.
- Provide weekly notifications of staged materials to the Operations Maintenance Group (OMG) and scheduler.
- Work with the outage procurement group to ensure materials are on order and aligned with outage strategy and dates.
- Attend weekly planning meetings to ensure effective communication and alignment of materials coordination with the maintenance and operations teams.
- Order chemicals for operations and collaborate with the operations team mill-wide to procure chemicals needed to support operating strategies.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience with supply chain management, materials planning, procurement, or inventory control.
- Experience identifying problems and implementing solutions.
- Experience in collaborating with external vendors and contractors.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Certification in materials or project management
- Materials management software experience
- Experience with procurement processes, including ordering materials and tracking expected due dates.
