Position: Process Control Technician
Shift: This position is for rotating shifts including including overtime, weekends, and holidays while also providing personal standard hand tools.
Compensation: Compensation depends on level of experience.

What You Will Do in Your Role
- Learning multiple operator roles to operate equipment at expected performance levels, training new operators to perform the essential functions of those roles, and coaching existing operators to excel in those roles.
- Work in collaboration with the Shift Supervisors, helping to ensure machines are set up properly for each scheduled grade. Lead the development and execution of the operating plan for the day to optimize production and minimize waste from off-quality products.
- Monitoring and coaching team members for gaps in process/product centerlines and quality attributes.
- Have technical oversight for SOPs, OBC routes, and Startup/Changeover/Shutdown checklists.
- Functioning as liaison between Production and Reliability personnel. Ensure team members are connected to Operator Basic Care (OBC) and Reliability fundamentals required to ensure consistent operations. Champion a refusal to “run wounded” or allow chronic “workarounds” to deteriorate performance.
- Driving the priorities on which the Operations Zone Owners and Reliability Zone Owners are aligned with for the equipment.
- Be responsible for establishing and carrying out a weekly plan for contacting and coaching all team members on the Shift as needs dictate.
- Work with the Shift Supervisor to help the plant achieve KPI goals. Ensure the quality of the end product.
- Lead pre-shift meetings and ensure shift compliance such as timely Safety & Environmental Compliance Training completion.
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Must have a good understanding of plant goals, bets, and expectations.
- Experience utilizing computer systems (HMI, MOE, Quality Systems, Microsoft Office, and incident reporting systems).
- Experience operating and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment and/or technical training in relevant field of study.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills to coach and mentor peers in the execution of their daily work.
- Must have excellent communications skills and be able to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Effective Leadership skills are necessary to direct and maximize contributions of others.
- Must prioritize working safely and lead by example.
What Will Put You Ahead:
- Experience coaching, counseling, and developing employees.
- Three (3) or more years of Gypsum experience

The PCT will help lead and assist all operators across the production line in achieving the highest possible levels in safety, quality, housekeeping and production efficiency as well as optimizing machine output. The PCT will assume all duties of the Shift Supervisor in the event they are unavailable. The PCT will also fill in for other operators on the board line as needed. This individual will be detail-oriented and thrive in a team-oriented environment by being a role model and coach for employees.
