Flint Hills Resources is seeking a talented Solutions Architect to join our Architecture team at our Wichita, KS headquarters. This role is open to remote.
This position involves being a part of a team that collaborates to develop solutions designed to drive increased value and accelerate transformation across the organization. As a Solutions Architect, you'll work with IT and business teams to understand their needs, assist in defining problems, and identify solutions that align with the organization's objectives. In this role you will need to stay current with emerging technologies, assess the capabilities of vendor platforms, and evaluate technical advancements in coding languages that could create efficiencies for our business. Your day-to-day work could involve leading the development of shared custom platforms, providing prototypes and developing proposals & architectural designs that drive business decisions to help adopt the right transformation. Your technical expertise will be used to provide recommendations that align with business objectives while considering the broader impact. A candidate who is a self-starter and is proactive will be a great fit for this opportunity.
What You Will Do
- Work on high-priority projects, optimizing execution time and ensuring that project team members are familiar with recommended architecture patterns
- Explore and experiment with cloud-based solutions that can drive business transformation, contributing to our shared data platform and focusing on code solutions that can accelerate value creation across the organization
- Understand architecture strategies across the organization and be able to mentor others on best practices in this area
- Exercise economic thinking and assess risks when making decisions, while adhering to industry standards
- Analyze software platforms, identifying risks, and providing technical direction
- Mentor others in architecture best practices, with a focus on improving the skillsets of your colleagues across the organization
- Create architectural diagrams to be leveraged by software teams that will ensure adherence to FHR’s architecture principles
- Collaborate on the development of a proposal that will provide relevant documentation to Business and IT leaders, to help make technical business decision
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience with Node.JS, Typescript, Python, C#, and React
- Experience with Amazon Web Services products and tools, including Lambda, SNS, SQS, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Redshift, and S3
- Experience implementing large scale vendor applications and/or custom developed solutions
- Experience communicating technology to various audiences in both execution detail and broad concepts
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience with modern cloud-based platforms and tools, such as AWS, Microsoft, Google, and SaaS vendors
- Experience with container technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, Fargate, Google Cloud Run, and AKS
- Experience with DevOps methodologies, processes, and tools, such as CI/CD, Lean, and Azure DevOps
- Experience with data storage technologies and query languages (Neo4j, Redshift, S3, Hadoop, etc.)
