We are seeking a candidate to fill a manufacturing support role in the Pulp, Power & Recovery (PP&R) Center of Excellence (CoE). This position can be home based. The position will report to the CoE Fiberline Leader and will collaborate with multiple groups and disciplines throughout operations and engineering to improve asset performance, process safety, and reliability.
Our Team
The Senior Digester Fleet Manager will utilize PBM® and Frameworks to manage the overall fleet of continuous and batch digesters to ensure operational excellence and the sustainability of the assets. This role will be responsible for collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive results, creating superior value to meet GP’s manufacturing vision.
What You Will Do
- Ensure that GP digester fleet follows internal and industry-accepted practices for inspection and repair of maintenance of continuous and batch digester systems.
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure that an aligned asset strategy is followed for digester systems and that mechanical integrity standards are maintained for the lifecycle of the assets.
- Gatekeep and prioritize operational, maintenance, and asset protection standards for continuous and batch digesters
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of engineers, designers, and suppliers to develop transformative projects for the GP businesses.
- Collaborate with Asset Center Owners (ACO’s), subject matter experts (SMEs) and Collaboration and Support Center (CSC) teams to ensure the integrity of the digester fleet.
- Develop strong relationships with constituents in Operations, Engineering, and Business teams.
- Develop mutually beneficial supplier relationships that allow GP to lead the industry in technology applications.
- Prioritize specific high-risk or high-profile site support opportunities based on capabilities.
- Identify capital improvement opportunities and partnering with site and external engineering teams on development, execution, and commissioning of digester fleet capital projects.
- Comply with Environmental, Health and Safety in all activities with the objective of achieving zero significant incidents.
Personal Attributes
- Proven capability of leading through influence; working with and through large cross-functional teams.
- 10+ years’ experience in manufacturing/operations experience, preferably in paper or process industry.
- Experience with Kraft mill Pulping systems including the operation and design of digesters, washing & screening, oxygen delignification, and bleach plant.
- Demonstrated project/program management experience, preferably with large capital projects and digester major/minor outage work.
- Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with a preference of Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Pulp and Paper Science.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the pulp & paper industry operations and engineering, preferably at integrated kraft mill(s).
- Knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of the design, construction, operation and maintenance of assets in scope of responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and process optimization.
- Demonstrated experience in projects and implementation of project activities.
- Ability to travel at least 50%
For this role we anticipate paying $150K - $180K.
