INVISTA Canada's nylon manufacturing site located in scenic Kingston, Ontario has immediate openings for an Industrial Steamfitter/Pipefitter (307A) to work as part of an amazing team in our polymer and fibres manufacturing plant.

What You Will Do
- Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fitting, and related equipment according to specifications.
- The role includes supporting the operation in both preventative and reactive maintenance work processes and providing feedback to optimize plant reliability.
- Support and assist Millwright work such as process pump and compressor repair and installation.
- Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
- Heavy lifting and maneuvering of heavy items.
- Perform daily tasks using SAP data management system. Training will be provided.
- Working from heights and ability to safely lift 25kg.
- Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, mathematical skills, ability to read and understand complex instructions, and ability to do exacting work.
- Physical condition and health compatible with duties of industrial trades.
- Willingness to work within a unionized chemical plant environment.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Applicants must possess a Steamfitter Red Seal license (307A) along with a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent working experience as a Steamfitter/Pipefitter.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, locate, identify, and diagnose malfunctions.
- Availability and willingness to work shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Able to work in a tobacco-free environment.
- Able to lay out, assemble, and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications.
- Ability to read and understand design drawings and installation diagrams.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Previous installation and repair experience in heating, cooling, process, and industrial systems.
- Hoisting and rigging experience.
- Flanged Joint makeup, pipe fitting experience.
- Fabrication/repair of ASME B31.1, B31.3 piping.
- Repair of ASME Section VIII pressure vessels and ASME Section I Boilers.
- Fabrication and repair of structural steel to CSA Std. W59.
- Welding of carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloy materials.
- Previous certifications held in CSA W47.1 and/or TSSA Welder/welding operator certificates would be considered an asset.
