INVISTA has an immediate opening for a Transformation Manager at our Houston Propylene facility. The Transformation Manager creates long term value by leading multiple teams at the site including Process Controls, Learning and Development, and Transformation. The Transformation Manager will drive initiatives focused on early process anomaly detection, task automation, and transitioning work that create more value for the business. This is accomplished by providing leadership and strategic direction to the teams through the application of Principle Based Management and adherence to our Guiding Principles.
Our Team
As part of the site Leadership Team, the Transformation Manager will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the facility’s Process Controls programs and systems, Learning and Development program, and site Transformation initiatives.
The Transformation Manager must be able to embrace and lead change, possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to use influence to get work done, enjoy working in a manufacturing environment and interacting with operators and maintenance personnel, and efficiently balance multiple priorities. The position requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of audiences. The successful candidate must also lead by example, be self-motivated, possess strong analytical skills, exhibit sound decision-making, and have proficient organizational skills.
This position reports directly to the Plant Manager of the Houston Propylene facility.
What You Will Do
- Active member of Site Leadership Team, supporting site Vision and strategies.
- Lead Process Controls Team, including controls engineers and specialists.
- Lead site Transformation Team and efforts by integrating INVISTA capabilities (Process Monitoring, Advanced Process Control, State Based Control) into the front line organization to create and deliver value for the business.
- Collaboratively work across site teams to drive transformation within both Operations and Asset Management through the automation and elimination of lower value work and transferring to higher value work.
- Learning and Development Leader for the site. Develop site strategies and plans to build and sustain site training capability and knowledge, including both Operations and Asset Management.
- Identify and implement LEAN manufacturing concepts at the site where they create value.
- Intellectual Property owner for the site.
- Lead engagements with process technology licensor.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Degreed engineer, preferably with mechanical or chemical engineering degree.
- Previous experience in either Operations or Asset Management for a chemical manufacturing or refining site.
- Previous experience as a Supervisor.
- Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship
What Will Put You Ahead
- Demonstrated experience implementing change within an organization.
- Previous experience and knowledge of advanced process controls, state-based controls, and process monitoring capability.
- Previous experience and knowledge applying LEAN manufacturing principles
