The Agile Delivery Manager reports to the Director of Agile Delivery and leads a team of Scrum Masters engaging with product teams across Georgia Pacific. As a Manager at GP, your role is, first and foremost, to be a mentor and supervisor to your team. You will also be responsible for overseeing the team’s delivery, promoting best practices, and coaching Scrum Masters to continuously improve product team performance. You will have the ability to influence where GP shifts from a project-based delivery approach to a product-based delivery approach. The team and this role are based out of our Headquarters in Atlanta, GA. In-person collaboration is fundamental to our culture and journey, so you should expect to work on-site with ability to work remotely as needed.
Our Team
As an Agile Delivery Manager, you will lead and support a team of Scrum Masters in our organization, ensuring the successful implementation of Agile methodologies and practices. Your role will involve coaching and mentoring Scrum Masters, facilitating Agile processes, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. In addition to your supervisory responsibilities, you will leverage your experience to influence the Agile transformation across the organization.
What You Will Do
- Supervise and Lead a team of 6-8 Scrum Masters, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture among Scrum Masters by mentoring and coaching the team to align to the strategic business goals of agile delivery
- Provides visibility to the health and continuous improvement plans for engagements across the portfolio; tracks key delivery metrics.
- Coordinate the workload and priorities of the Scrum Master team to align with organizational objectives.
- Apply your expertise as an Agile Coach to mentor and coach Scrum Masters in Agile principles, practices, and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
- Facilitate regular one-on-one coaching sessions with Scrum Masters to help them overcome challenges and continuously improve their skills.
- Act as a resource for Scrum Masters in resolving complex issues and impediments within Agile teams.
- Drive the continuous improvement of Agile processes and practices across teams.
- Collaborate with Scrum Masters and Agile teams to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for enhancement.
- Implement best practices and methodologies to optimize Agile delivery within the organization.
- Play a pivotal role in the Agile transformation journey by advocating Agile principles and values throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with other Agile Coaches and leaders to align Agile practices across departments.
- Promote a culture of transparency, adaptability, and a focus on delivering value to stakeholders.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Agile delivery and provide regular reports to leadership.
- Ensure that Agile teams are adhering to established Agile metrics and standards.
- Assesses resources and skills needed to acquire, retain, and develop Scrum Masters to meet current and future needs of product teams.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience as an Agile practitioner serving as a Scrum Master and/or Agile Coach
- Experience as a supervisor managing scrum masters or agile coaches or product teams
- Experience with Agile frameworks and tools, such as Jira or Azure DevOps
- Experience working in an enterprise cross-functional organization
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience working in a client-facing or internal consulting role
- Experience in hybrid project and product delivery environments (Scrum, Agile, Waterfall, Kanban)
- Experience with organizational change management processes
- Experience researching current agile trends, best practices, emerging technologies, and evolving methodologies to integrate into day-to-day operations
