Georgia-Pacific is seeking qualified professionals to consider for the position of Learning and Development Leader at our Port Hudson, LA facility. The Learning and Development Leader will work with the mill Operations Leaders to implement strategies to increase the capabilities of the operating teams. Responsibilities will include oversight and implementation of learning and development processes throughout the facility.
Our Team
Located just north of Baton Rouge, LA and west of Zachary, LA, the Port Hudson mill employs 350 people and has two tissue/towel paper machines and produces consumer tissue products such as bath tissue and paper towels sold under the Georgia-Pacific brand names of Quilted Northern® and Brawny®. The assets are highly automated and state of the art.
What You Will Do
- Lead performance expectation development for performance leaders and assists operating technician’s development of knowledge and skill through ongoing verification
- Assist/lead Skill Developers with operational assessment preparation
- Work with all division (Continuous Manufacturing Group) Learning and Development leaders to build a unified qualification process
- Partner directly with CMG L&D team, IT research and technology as well as Performance Leaders, Skill Developers and Skill Builders to implement emerging technologies throughout our workforce for the purpose of accelerating learning and development
- Act as site administrator for all electronic learning systems and records
- Ensure operational learning materials are standardized to promote cross-facility sharing of resources in a timely manner
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Two or more years of experience with Learning and Development
- Experience with building Operational Learning and Development programs
- Experience in building learning materials that support operational efficiency
- Experience developing and compiling operational courses that increase individual and team capabilities
- Experience using Microsoft Office products to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint to enable the production and implementation of learning materials into a learning system
- Experience with the creation of, and understanding the usage of standard procedures (SP’s) that will be used and referenced in the learning system
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with equipment used in the production, converting, and finishing of tissue, towel, and napkin products or any other consumer packaged products
- Experience in reading technical drawings and schematics. These tools will be included in the learning system to aid and enhance the user’s learning experience
- Experience with Immersive Learning tools such as Matterport, Captivate, Articulate, and others as well as Convergence
