As a Railroad Audit & Billing Manager you will hold a multifaceted role that is pivotal in ensuring the precision and effectiveness of our financial operations within the railroad sector. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our rail asset maintenance spend as well as work to analyze and interpret data related to various aspects of rail operations.

Working with our network of over 175 railroad partners and contract repair shops, our vision is to provide our customers with safe, compliant assets in an economical and efficient manner.
What You Will Do
- Oversee audits of railroad running repairs to ensure financial accuracy and compliance to the Federal Railroad Association regulations and Association of American Railroads interchange rules.
- Manage the counter billing authority process, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies efficiently.
- Process rebuttal billing for destroyed, dismantled, and Joint Inspection Certificate assets minimizing outstanding receivables.
- Provide financial insights and reports to guide strategic decision making.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Identify and automate operations to enhance efficiency.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Demonstrated experience in Association of American Railroads billing, auditing, and Car Repair Billing Data Exchange processing.
- Experience in financial analysis, reporting, and the ability to provide strategic insights based on large datasets.
- Experience with implementing process improvements resulting in measurable outcomes.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Audit process experience and/or process improvement experience.
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools for data visualization and data mining/blending such as PowerBI or other software.
- Advanced analytical skills such as predictive modeling, plotting normalized distributions, and trend forecasting.
For this role, we anticipate paying $70,000 - $90,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
