The Supply Base Manager is responsible for Direct procurement of Raw Materials supporting our Transportation Solutions Business Unit (TSBU) supporting North American manufacturing operations with key focus on Metals, Resins and outsourced Commodities along with involvement and maintenance of Supplier Relationship Management activities.
What You Will Do
- Align with Category Management, New Product Development (NPD) Sourcing and Plant demand planning to implement strategies that add value to the business through:
- Management of suppliers providing Metal coils/strip, Resin and seals as well as outsourced raw materials
- Price reductions through negotiations and implementation of VA/VE activities
- Develop Supply agreements & Improvement of payment terms with suppliers
- Develop, deploy, and improve material replenishment plans with focus on VMI/SOI
- Eliminate/ offset price erosions in life cycle cost of program
- Drive Cost Recoveries generated by supplier (sorting, freight, invoicing errors, labor)
- Support and Improve supplier quality incoming quality
- You will become a valued Member of Lead Team and visibility as Key contributor in the plant
- Promote Molex’s Principal Based Management (PBM) Culture and actively apply the principles and philosophies
- Collaborate with category team regarding Pricing and Inventory agreements enabling competitive advantage for Molex
- Develop PLANT value stream mapping and supply base strategy aligned with global procurement strategy and input/alignment from Key Stakeholders
- Develop & Implement Cost Improvement Opportunities/Eliminate Waste
- Promote Economic Thinking & analysis in all aspects of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
- Create, Develop and Improve Inventory Improvement Strategies in PLANT
- Support Quality Improvement Strategy in PLANT
- Ensure team engagement & alignment with NPD Sourcing for program flawless launch.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain Management
- 5+ years of procurement management experience.
- Equivalent work/life progressive experience in related procurement/purchasing roles.

- SAP or relative MRO/ERP/MRP experience
- Global procurement experiences in supporting whole product life cycle - new product development processes, mass production till product end of life
