Your Job
The Traffic Coordinator will be responsible for internal and external traffic movements within our Port Hudson facility. This will include partnering with third party logistics organizations, managing yard movements, and working closely with internal team members. They will play a key role optimizing to plant production through best-in-class supply chain practices. They will report to the Logistics Leader and work within the logistics team of 40+ employees.
Our Team
Located just north of Baton Rouge, LA and west of Zachary, LA, the Port Hudson mill employs about 350 people and has two tissue/towel paper machines and produces consumer tissue products such as bath tissue and paper towels sold under the Georgia-Pacific brand names of Quilted Northern® and Brawny®. The paper machines are state of the art for manufacturing of premium tissue paper. The mill is in the sportsman’s paradise of South Louisiana. Fishing and hunting opportunities are available in the immediate area. The Gulf Coast is only an hour away. There is plenty of history in the area to explore as well. For urban activities, Baton Rouge and New Orleans are just a short drive away.
What You Will Do
- Track inbound shipments for production runs and communicate appropriate updates/escalations to the operations team
- Manage the spotting service, inspections, and trailer yard
- Partner with third part logistics group for trailer pools
- Oversee trailer check-in process
- Verify and resolve loaded aged trailers issues
- Reducing production downtime by optimizing material management practices
- Pulp railcar oversight and management
- Provide back up to the Traffic Coordinator or Planner
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience in Logistics, Shipping, Yard Management or Supply Chain
- Proven ability to identify and resolve problems independently
- Experience cultivating positive relationships and collaborating with internal and external partners
- Experience utilizing enterprise resource planning software
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
