Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrical Biased) - Shift Relief

What You Will Do
The purpose of this role is to work as an integral part of the operations team to deliver effective and efficient maintenance to the manufacturing facility to ensure continuous operation 24 hours per day, 365 days a year. The role is day based with a shift relief cover requirement.
This role is working on a predominantly day basis Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:00 & Friday 07:30 – 15:00
However, there is shift relief element which requires the relief team (team of 4) to cover holidays and sickness of the shift maintenance team (4 (1 per shift)). The shift maintenance team work 12 hour shifts (2 days, 2night, 4 days off pattern)
The expectation is for the shift maintenance team to give plenty of notice for holidays and they have some holidays rostered in to aid covering.
In the shift relief role each member of the relief team does approx. 50 shifts a year.
There is a shift allowance to compensate for the shift element part of the role and the relief team accrue time off – i.e. if they work a 12 hour shift on a Saturday they accrue 12 hours to take off in the week.
This role will support the site operations team in carrying out a wide range of electrical/instrumentation activities to include:
- Routine maintenance to support plant critical systems and equipment.
- Equipment performance and reliability.
- First line fault finding and diagnostics.
- Support of Operations Improvement and Transformation projects.
The successful candidate will be expected to work on a range of manufacturing and utility systems that support the critical manufacturing environment for a quality critical automotive end use.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience of the practical aspects of maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Successful completion of an Electrical/Instrumentation Apprenticeship; or NVQ Level 3 or a National Certificate in an Electrical/Instrumentation discipline or equivalent.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of the Operations Team.
- The ability to plan, prioritise and schedule your work in a busy manufacturing environment.
- The ability to work with Computer Based Maintenance Planning systems.
- The ability to work under pressure.
- HNC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- PLC experience desirable particularly on Siemens systems.
