The OEM Account Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of sales strategies and plans to maintain existing business and identify opportunities for growth to meet or exceed annual sales goals. The focus for this role is within the material handling, baggage handling, and warehouse automation market segments.
What You Will Do
This individual is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships at assigned accounts, driving specification wins, and ensuring a high level of customer experience.
- Establishes strong relationships at all organizational levels within the customer base and understands customers’ processes, business drivers and organizational models.
- Follows the Molex sales process using the SalesForce platform. Knows assigned accounts, plans for growth, maintains a healthy funnel, drives opportunities to closure and evaluates performance to goal.
- Understand the industry (applications, standards/regulations, drivers, and trends), the customer’s organization and desired business outcomes. Is knowledgeable of Molex offerings and delivery mechanisms as well as partner capabilities relevant to assigned accounts.
- Proactively collaborates with the North America Product Managers and Business Development Team.
- Qualifies customer opportunities, engages the appropriate resources and coordinates the solution design to impact the customer’s decision process and presents solutions to the customer (value proposition).
- Coordinates Molex account team, senior management, and a technical engagement team (domain experts) to plan for and win identified opportunities.
- Maintains accurate assessment of target and opportunity funnel within Salesforce platform.
- Teams with corporate Contracts and Negotiations group to ensure appropriate contracts and/or terms with customers.
- Negotiates pricing either for direct customer relationships or utilizing a channel partner, as appropriate.
- Supports customer/internal account reviews.
- Sets and helps manage internal/external partner expectations.
- Attains thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but are not limited to Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, and government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality, and environmental).
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel locally greater than 40% of the time. Geography includes the southeastern USA region primarily and can include other US states as related to target accounts. Annual travel to Molex HQ in Lisle, IL.
- Prior experience in technical sales, industrial distribution, manufacturing operations, systems integration, or an engineering firm.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline or Business Management. Additional business-related degree/experience preferred.
- Prior experience within material handling, baggage handling, warehouse structures, machine/line builders, and/or the general industrial automation sector is preferred.
- Experience working with all levels of industrial automation customers including senior management, controls/system engineers, and sourcing.
