Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Process Engineer (Pulping) to join our cellulose team located in Brunswick, GA. In this dynamic role you will be responsible for leading a team focused on operational readiness for major capital projects which includes commissioning, startup, development of SOPs and functional role descriptions, L&D, and asset strategy.
Our Team
Georgia-Pacific Brunswick Cellulose mill manufactures softwood fluff pulps. Our products are used primarily in absorbent products such as diapers and hygiene products.
What You Will Do
- As the project lead you will oversee a team of diversely talented individuals focused on capital project startup.
- Operate as the liaison between the capital project team and the mill operational team.
- Ensure all aspects of operational readiness are completed prior to commissioning and startup.
- Partner with L&D to support operator and supervisor certifications and readiness.
- Collaborate with the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), project team, mill team, and operational readiness team.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Operational leadership experience within a manufacturing or pulp/paper environment.
- Experience managing teams.
- Knowledge of pulping and/or bleaching operations and equipment.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Pulp and Paper Science
- Experience on large capital project installs and startups.
- Experience in brownstock and pulping operations.
- Project management experience on projects with estimated value of $500k or more.
