Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD)is seeking a Project Controls Specialist at our Katy, TX headquarters. This Role will be responsible for technical aspects of project controls on an EPC project – from early development phase through commissioning and turnover.

What You Will Do
- Support project reporting in all aspects, including data assembly & validation for projects ranging in size from $100,000 to over $3 billion total-installed-cost.
- Ensure consistent and useful project reporting.
- Interface with internal and external clients, including owners, engineers, designers, and field crews to verify work plans.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain a plan and schedule.
- Work with planners & schedulers in support of multiple projects
- Work with cost engineers, accounting, & progress analysts in support of multiple projects
- Identify trends that impact final cost and schedule projections.
- Review and organize projects’ costs and plans into spreadsheets and databases.
- Monitor commitments, manage change orders, and adjust forecasts to reflect change orders.
- Report actual versus baseline cost status and prepare final cost reports to internal and external Clients.
- Create & maintain time-phased invoicing plans, aligned to project estimates & budgets.
- Prepare graphic representation of data such as progress curves, earned value, etc.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- BS in engineering, construction management, or similar
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience in engineering, procurement, or construction project controls.
- Experience developing project controls strategies for EPC projects.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and ability to develop scope of work and schedule.
- Previous experience in the role of Project Controls Manager
- Advanced Excel Capabilities, including VLOOKUP, and Conditional Formatting
- Experience in EPC petrochemical, industrial/process, or oil & gas projects
- Experience across a range of project controls functions, including cost management, progress measurement, change management, planning, scheduling, and trend identification.
