Your Job
Responsible for the strategy, leadership, financial (P&L) performance, marketing direction and management of a product group for the Transportation BU in support of divisional goals. This includes initiation of project, management of proposal phase, monitoring life cycles, pricing and costing strategies, cost reductions, promotion, pipeline, capacity forecast, product extensions, timing, and quality.
What You Will Do
• Supports Sales in phase of project initiation, phase 1 of PDP;
• Leads the proposal development, phase 2 of PDP;
• Leads multifunctional team and Initiates the project plan development to bring a new product to market, phase 3 of PDP.
• Manages the product life cycle and lead the continual improvement plan, phase 8 of PDP
• Establishes objectives for the assigned product groups in line with Division and corporate goals;
• Develops and implements product strategies including Product Road Map and a strong new product development pipeline in line with Division strategy and current and future market demand;
• Determine what new products will be developed, recommend where they will be designed and manufactured and when;
• Provide frequent and effective interaction and communication with Sales and Marketing, Engineering and the rest of the organization. Fosters communication among team;
• Participate and take active role in industry and/or professional groups. Proactively disseminate market and industry intelligence;
• Develops and executes product promotion and commercialization plans including: sales tools, literature, distribution, stocking, training and sample kits;
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management;
• Actively responding to workers’ opinions or comments regarding L&E management; ensuring all workers are provided with L&E related trainings; ensuring L&E issues identified in internal audits are corrected in a timely manner; and understanding and cooperating actively with the company’s L&E objectives, targets, and action plans.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline.
- 5+ years prior Product development experience in sales, marketing, engineering, project management.
· Ability to translate company and division vision into objectives that are meaningful and attainable.
· Have marketing knowledge.
· Understand profitability aspects.
· Able to successfully champion ideas, solutions, and raise issues across the organization. Demonstrates ability to effectively lead and manage team of professionals and support staff.
· Capable of establishing credibility, mutual respect, and authority within the functional groups.
· Customer orientated sensibility.
· Excellent written and oral communication and active listening skills.
· English skills.
What Will Put You Ahead
· MBA or other related graduate degree.
· 5+ years experience / knowledge within the global automotive supplier industry;
- · 5+ years exposure to / knowledge of engineering, quality, sales/marketing.
- Strong technical background, experience in Automotive Connectors and Terminals.
