Based in Brandon, Manitoba, we synthesize and blend nitrogen, phosphate, and sulfur products with ammonia, which we market primarily in the prairie provinces of Canada and the northern United States. Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, we employ approximately 270 dedicated team members. Our fundamental commitment to safety, health, and environmental stewardship drives all our processes.
In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the successful applicant will be hired into this position at ‘M3’ rate (currently$41.25/hour) and receive a Pay for Knowledge premium of $0.50/hour. All overtime is paid at double time.
What You Will Do
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements
- Select the amount and type of installation to be installed
- Select the method of securing the insulation per the conditions and uses
- Measure and cut insulating material and coverings to the required specifications
- Fit insulation around obstacles or shape insulation materials and protective coverings
- Install vapour barriers and finish insulated surfaces
- Work with a partner on assigned tasks
- Perform other related tasks as assigned
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer
- Ability to sit, stand, kneel as necessary
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders, work at heights
- Ability to pass pulmonary breathing test
- Ability to wear gas mask-type respirator and PPE
- Tolerance to fumes and airborne particles (occasional exposure)
- Unassisted physical mobility in and around plant
- Availability for shift work and emergency call out
- Ability to travel to and enter site and access equipment
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Valid Manitoba Journeyman Insulator Certification or Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Insulating Certification
- Valid Class Five (5) driver’s license
- At least three (3) years of related trade experience
What Will Put You Ahead
- Three (3) years of related industrial experience
- Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Insulating Certification
- Computer skills experience including working with maintenance planning programs such as Maximo or similar.
