Your Job
- To facilitate new Stamping Die Design / development in line to the requirements of Product engineering by working with PJM, Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing functions and QA in realizing the new connector parts and processes on time with first-time-right.
- Provide technical support & improve the existing process design, whenever requested.
- In this role, you will have the opportunity to support die design, tooling debug, and process engineers with new connector and terminal product development activities as well as modification and extension activities for legacy products
What You Will Do
1. Design new stamping die for renewal or new product launching, work with product design:
Participates in product design review and DFMEA discussion to ensure the die and mass production feasibility; provide proposal design for possible improvement based on analyze.
Works with project management to identify die developing schedules based on the risk assessment of die development.
Design full die concept / layout, to meet product requirement & stamping machine specification (stroke speed, die layout, die gap, blanking/forming/bending…, line up, matching point, protector, winding direction, …) 3D/2D
Select right material for die punch/ core, plate… base product quality & die long life.
Leads die design review detailing on required design work; ensures the manufacturing feasibility for each detail of die."
Prepares CAD models which cover details layout and assemblies of new die or revised die"
Design detail of die part & break down to DWG for tooling process"
Apply new technology to make new die (if any)"
Apply improvement from production feedback to new die"2. Leads new die build up & quality verification:
New dies build up planning. Work with tooling processing team to fabricate die, punch/die
Leads die builder technician to assembly new die
Co-operate with production engineer to trial & analyze issue to find out cause & solve problem of new die, leads the die debug (including critical dimensions review, FAI disposition…) until the die is qualified and transfer to mass production.
Define necessary things for MP & work with production engineer to prepare it (sub-equipment, Vision inspection…)"
Cooperate with production engineer to review speed (SPM) and define the improvement. "3. Continual improvement:
Continue improvement for quality up, productivity up by apply improvement to current die
Join activities to improve ability & performance of stamping die during MT/MP"
Co-operate with stamping process engineer to analyze issued of part and finding method to improvement spare part long life, extend die long life"
To modify & design change when have ECN update4. Work with die maker in case making die at vendor:
Do DFM for new diel, design review
Support supplier to design & trial new stamping die
Die specification check before transferWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)
