Join our team in Katowice as Costing Subject Matter Expert.
As part of Guardian Glass Finance organisation, this role supports the Europe, AMEIA & America Controller’s capability and is based in the office in Katowice, Poland.
The key essence of this role is to facilitate virtuous cycles of mutual benefit within the finance capabilities through a combination of strong communication and analytic skills.
What You Will Do
- Knowledge and understanding of cost accounting
- Ongoing cost model ownership for multiple locations
- changes of key drivers/ rates/ purchase prices
- updates to key stakeholders in finance or others e.g. operations on changes
- Sales and profitability data calculation and validation
- Perform variance analysis
- Journal calculation incl. Finished Goods, Raw Materials, Work in Progress, Reserves (obsolescence, LCM)
- Close cooperation with accounting team responsible for journals booking
- Optimization of costing system and global process standardization. Continually work toward enhancing efficiency, effectiveness, and customer experience of costing and profitability services
- Participation in new ERP system implementation project
- Support and initiate process improvements from Costing area
- Update of intercompany prices
- Assist in Annual Operating Plan – resource cost and production parameters updates in the model
- Ensure strong internal controls are established and maintained in the costing activities
- Support the audit requests and ad hoc questions in the company from costing area
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve and use technology to improve the efficiency of the team
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills (advanced Excel is required)
- Resilient in a fast-paced, changing environment
What Will Put You Ahead
- General knowledge of manufacturing plant costing practices and models
- Proven ability of implementing best practices in a shared services environment (experience in process improvement department considered as a plus)
- Understanding and knowledge of glass manufacturing process is considered as a plus
