Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is an engineering/construction company headquartered in Katy, TX with an expertise in the natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petrochemical industries. OPD is part of the larger Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) organization which provides a variety of capabilities across many industries. Originally incorporated in 1980, OPD has developed a strong reputation for honesty, integrity, and ability to successfully execute projects. OPD has a key advantage in being able to supply construction services as well as engineering/procurement. What You Will Do
- Responsible for the full I&C design cycle including concept generations, drawings, design reviews including but not limited to P&ID reviews, wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, junction box loading, interconnects, control system network architecture, safety plans, details, cable schedule, BOMs, and Instrument Location plans
- Ensure project deliverables are compliant with industry, customer and company standards and specifications
- Communicate effectively between design teams and project engineering
- Execute multiple projects at the same time
- Provide field support when necessary
- Continuously seeking opportunities for improvements in quality and efficiency
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Knowledge in INSTRUMENT AND CONTROL design in midstream, gas processing, refinery, and/or chemical industries.
- Ability to read Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) as it relates to instrument and controls signals.
- Working knowledge of 24VDC and 120VAC instrument and control design as it relates to discrete inputs, discrete outputs, analog inputs, analog outputs, and temperature elements.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SPI, and Microsoft office software and ability to read, understand, and review engineering drawings and documents
- Knowledge in Codes and Standards such as ISA, API, PIP, NFPA, NEC.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Field construction and technical experience.
- Working knowledge of the design of power systems.
- Previous experience with BIM 360, CADWorx, Bluebeam
- Previous SPI Admin experience
