Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Outage Leader to support our team in Monticello, MS. This position is responsible for the preparation, coordination, scheduling, and execution of complex outage events for a fully integrated liner board facility. This leader will interface regular with pulp, utilities, paper mill, and maintenance leaders to develop best in class outage and planning to help the mill achieve its vision.
Our Team
Georgia-Pacific Monticello is a fully integrated containerboard mill employing 420 people and generating 80% of our own power from biofuels. Recently, the facility received approval for a $91 mm logline replacement, a $17 mm Air Compressor Island installation, and future transformational projects are in the planning phases. What You Will Do
- Manage complex outage planning to include schedule development, cost management, logistics management, event free startup, quality assurance, and quality control.
- Lead all mill wide outage planning, execution, and critique meetings.
- Participate and assist in area led outage planning sessions, milestone development, and work prioritization.
- Facilitate work identification process and scope development process.
- Develop a Contractor Management Strategy
- Work directly with corporate outage resources to adopt best practices and promote lessons learned throughout the division and company.
- Be a self-starter and hold self-accountable for commitments and results
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in engineering or equivalent work experience
- 5 or more years’ experience managing complex projects across multiple workstreams.
- 5 or more years’ experience leading teams
- Experience with adhering to safety and regulatory compliance requirements
What Will Put You Ahead
- Operations or maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong project management skills and PC proficiency with CMMS, Project Management Software, and Excel
- Experience in leading large scale outages in the paper or similar industry
- Experience leading a training/learning and development team
- Experience in developing a annualized curriculum as well as task to training matrices
