Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Process Engineering Leader to champion the growth of the process engineering capability within the Monticello, Mississippi production facility. Our Team
Georgia-Pacific Monticello is a fully integrated containerboard mill that employs 450 employees and continues to benefit from extensive capital investment. This position is an opportunity to be part of a rapidly expanding organization with tremendous growth potential. Monticello, Mississippi, is an hour South of Jackson, MS, and an hour Northwest of Hattiesburg, MS.
What You Will Do
- Engage team in safety leadership efforts and encourage/support safe work practices in mill
- Accountable for all mill Process Engineering systems and leadership of the process engineering team
- Manages process engineering staff, vision, and planning. Responsible for employee performance, and development of team members including training, coaching, and mentoring
- Build partnerships with mill personnel to identify opportunities, solve problems, set priorities, and develop gap closure plans
- Provides process engineering support to all mill areas for process optimization, reliability and cost reduction efforts, capital and non-capital projects, safety initiatives, and product quality; prioritizes resources to ensure emphasis is placed on significant mill strategies and opportunities with highest value
- Leads the development, planning, and execution of process improvement projects, and support activities
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Experience with process engineering systems, including continuous improvements concepts and tools
- Experience managing multiple process improvement initiatives and priorities simultaneously
- Possess good written and oral communication skills
- Possess strong computer knowledge and skills that include experience with spreadsheets, word processing, and statistical analysis software.

- Experience in the Pulp and Paper industry
- Experience leading projects and support staff in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in Management in a manufacturing environment
