Georgia-Pacific’s Automation & Robotics Center of Excellence (CoE) wants to grow our Automation Monitoring team by adding a Remote Process Engineer – Automation. This dynamic role heavily emphasizes data analysis related to vehicle and automated system reliability and plays an integral part in the greater Reliability and Sustainability arm of the CoE.
Our Team
As a member of the Automation & Robotics team, the Automation Data Analyst will partner with Georgia-Pacific (GP) operations that have automated guided vehicles (AGVs) through in-depth data analysis, remote monitoring of the automated systems health metrics, and proactively addressing issues/opportunities within those fleets across multiple businesses. Our team members partner heavily with our Automation Platform Leaders, Learning & Development Leader, Operational Health Leader, Automation Platform Technicians, and our Automation Systems and Network Support partners to improve the reliability and sustainability of the GP AGV Fleets.
This role will report to the Automation Monitoring Leader and be based in the Technology Solutions Group Automation Lab in Atlanta, GA.
What You Will Do
- Operating as a “Data Detective” to analyze and summarize data into actionable insights that can be applied at the site/facility level.
- Review data trends from various sources to identify opportunities within GP AGV fleets.
- Enhance our Platform Technician’s ability to focus on larger-scale issues across fleet systems through data.
- From our Automation lab in Atlanta, remotely monitor AGV fleets in real time using diagnostic tools such as Pi Vision, Tableau, and AGV Manager software systems.
- Documentation of AGV-related issues within our Incident Management System to be tracked and followed through to resolution.
- Use internal and external knowledge resources and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot reported issues.
- Defining opportunities to improve on remote monitoring techniques.
- Knowledge sharing with the Platform team on opportunities/trends across fleets.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Technical degree or higher, OR technical experience working with Laser Guided Vehicles (LGV)/Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGV).
- Able to travel at least 20% within the domestic United States.
- Data Analytics experience used to find trends/patterns root cause and provide guidance.
- Practical experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate large amounts of data, create tables and charts, and apply formulas.
- Experience within a customer support capability with responsibility to create and maintain documentation.
- Able to be on rotating on-call/after-hours shifts for non-business hours to address escalated issues. Shifts will be assigned a week at a time, estimated to be one week every 6 weeks.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering
- Operational experience working with AGVs or LVGs
- Mechanical and/or electrical experience working with AGVs
- Experience working with systems or software to track work and/or parts, such as a Central Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
