Sr. Engineer - Product Design
Our Team
We are part of the Power & Signal Business Unit (PSBU) in Molex. We offer innovative and integrated solutions in design and development of cable assemblies and electronic solutions with an end-to-end support from Concept to Launch. We support a global and diverse customer base, and our cable assemblies are used in various market segments, including consumer, automotive, datacom and medical (excluding cables which directly touch human body)
What you will do
You will be driving design and development projects for PSBU Cable Assembly with focus on customer requirements and business value.
In this position you have full ownership of your projects and would be the first point of contact for customer on any technical query. Your key tasks are to ensure that you capture the voice of customer and develop innovative and competitive concepts to address the customer needs. You are then expected to share the design requirements accurately to the internal and external stakeholders which includes sample manufacturing, process engineers, quality assurance team, manufacturing team, suppliers, testing labs etc.
We work in an international and creative environment, and you will have to collaborate closely with colleagues from the global Molex organization and Design centers globally.
As a Sr. Product Engineer, you will also be responsible for,
- Participate in customer call related to the project irrespective of time zone.
- Review feasibility based on the customer VOC
- Drawings and Related specifications.
- Release and Update drawings, specifications & validation results to Work Manager / ECTR.
- Initiate and track ECN / ECR’s if needed.
- Lead Design Reviews & Participate in PFMEA & Design for Manufacturability reviews.
- Establish product qualification plans and reliability test sequences by working with CFT.
- Provide disposition of First Article Inspection reports on new parts in case of deviations.
- Coordinate with Sample Room to prepare samples and evaluate changes required thereof.
- Ensure compliance with all Molex policies & procedures in all related areas.

Professional Qualification
- Graduate in Engineering - Mechanical/ Electrical and Electronics
- 7+ years of post-qualification experience in product design and development, preferably in cable assemblies
- Understanding of the entire PLM cycle which includes product design, development, validation and part qualification
- Experienced in communicating and presentation on different organizational levels. Ability to communicate technical challenges to non-technical stakeholders
- Good work planning and prioritization skills
What will put you ahead
- Working knowledge in CAD S/W - NX (UG), PLM – Teamcenter & ALM- Polarion
- Good knowledge in change management process.
- Good Knowledge in DFMEA, GD&T, DFM & pFMEA.
- Hands on experience in product development cycle, PPAP and APQP process.
- Knowledge on Project Management, IATF 16949 or VDA 6.3
