Koch Energy Services’ natural gas trading and marketing business is experiencing continued growth and success. As a member of the KES IT team, the Software Engineering Supervisor will partner with the trading team to identify and deliver transformational solutions, focusing on Openlink - Endur and connected applications. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of these critical business functions.

As part of our IT team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects including the Eleox industry consortium, integrative AI projects and innovative energy solutions across natural gas and other commodity value chains. The role will be based at our Houston, TX office with a hybrid schedule (2 days remote/3 days onsite) and have 2-3 direct reports.
What You Will Do
- Maintain SVN management tools for the team
- Identify support, analysis and interface processes that can be automated
- Anticipate and assess technical change impacts to system health
- Maintain and improve system performance
- Monitor, respond and automate system issues
- Provide high level system documentation
- Liaise with internal (DBA, Network, Business Services) and external teams (Microsoft, Amazon, ICE, Ion)
- Ensure team conforms to internal development standards, perform code and architectural reviews
- Direct team members assignments and professional development
- Develop technical solutions as required
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience working with ETRM systems (Endur – OpenLink)
- Experience within energy trading and risk management
- Technical expertise in areas like JVS, Connex Frameworks (including exposure to OpenLink’s Java Framework)
- Experience using SQL (MS SQL Server)
- Experience with AWS or Azure
- DevOps experience using tools like SVN, JIRA, GitLab, Docker
- Experience with service-oriented technologies like REST, JSON
- Knowledge of the energy / commodity industry end-to-end, Natural Gas or other commodity experience
- Knowledge of US and Canadian Natural gas
- Knowledge of physical trades including storage and transport models, financial trades including nonlinear trades and their valuation
