Flint Hills Resources Corpus Christi Refinery is hiring for an Operations Specialist for the OSBL!

What You Will Do
· Monitor and respond to process conditions to operate units safely, environmentally consciously, and economically within quality parameters using the following tools: DCS, Advance Control Systems (if applicable), PI data, PIVision, CAPSALL secondary alarming, Console Action Plan/Operating Instructions (OI), Operating procedures, Shed plans, Lab data & Alarm manager
· Maintain or become fully rotational (3 units) in outside units, with a minimum of 2 in PMA as agreed upon by AOS.
· Challenge and advocate for maintenance priorities with the Area Operations Supervisor
· Coordinate and drive the execution of operating procedures and guidelines
· Communicate CAP/OI issues/concerns with Optimizer/Schedulers/RSM/AOS’s/Ops
· Communicate/elevate process and reliability issues to the appropriate capability.
· Train and help others certify when working the board or while working the Unit.
· Demonstrate a thirst for knowledge and be a role model for continuous learning, strive to be the “go to” operations expert for the area
· Drive area knowledge beyond the certification level by mentoring others, seeking teaching moments as part of job activities and taking the time to walk team members through operating scenarios/upset conditions.
· Understand best practices from shift to shift (inside and outside) and standardize on the best way for the area, continuously improve on the best way
· As a senior member of the shift operations team lead by example in professionalism, ownership, critical thinking, and alignment with FHR risk profile
· Primary Vacation relief for Board Operators and Secondary scheduled outside Operator coverage. Adjust core hours scheduled as needed.
· Work overtime as required per Relief Model
· Use and increase troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
· Effectively communicate with all Team members
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
· Fully rotational operator at FHR Corpus Christi and/or 3 years of operating experience at a refinery or petrochemical facility
What Will Put You Ahead
· 5+ Years operations experience
· Previous console experience
· Certified or previously certified in the Alky/Cumene Area
· Demonstrated leadership capability through experience such as an Execution Coordinator, Event Commander, Step-up AOS, or Outside Coordinator in turnaround or project
· Proficient in Excel
· Basic skills in PI Process books application, PI Vision
